Open Source Software -- More than Linux
I am a firm advocate of open source software. To this day I notice that most people -- including very educated, intelligent people -- have a wrong and negative image of open source. They dismiss it as inferior to closed source or expect to be unable to make a profit writing "open source". This is just dead wrong and I would like to encourage everybody to find out what open source is all about.
Open source does not only mean Linux, or for that matter an operating system (like Windows). There is some great software available that is relevant for every day (windows) users. For this purpose I will try to keep a list of cool open source software I use and/or recommend. Try it, it is free!
